Hiking

Try any of these accompanied hikes or a combination of several. Contact Paul to find out more, to discuss your requirements, check availability and get a hiking quote. Please note, hikers must provide their own transportation to the trail head or pre-arranged meeting point. Hikes will either be in the company of Paul or his very good friend and excellent guide, Octave Joseph.

The Boiling Lake trail - Dominica's most infamous hike. Difficult and long there-and-back hike of around 6-7 hours in total. Lots of steps, some steep, up and down ridges and peaks. Some small river crossings. Stunning scenery, often parrots. End up with a swim up TiTou Gorge.

The Middleham Waterfall trail - One of Dominica's tallest waterfalls. A fairly easy there-and-back hike of around 3 hours in total. Great pool for bathing.

The Sari Sari Waterfall trail - Tall, spectacular waterfall in the south east. A fairly easy there-and-back hike of around 2 hours in total. River crossing. Great pool for bathing. Good combination with the Victoria Waterfall trail and the Glassy trail.

The Victoria Waterfall trail - Tall, dramatic waterfall in the south east. A failry easy hike but with a difficult approach to the pool. There and back in around 2 hours total. Great pool. Good combination with the Sar Sari Waterfall trail and thr Glassy trail.

The Glassy trail - Easy there-and-back hike to steep cliffs and dramatic coastline. Around 2 hours in total. Good combination with the Sari Sari and Victoria waterfalls trails.

The Perdu Temps trail - A beautiful and historic rainforest hike passing over several rivers and streams, up and over mountain ridges, with views of the spectacular Jacks Waterfall. Medium difficulty one-way hike of around 5 hours.

The Chemin Letang trail - Historic trail from the Freshwater Lake to the village of Grand Fond. From there to the Dernier Waterfall. Medium difficulty there-and-back hike of around 5 hours in total.

The Freshwater Lake trail - Medium difficulty circular hike around the Freshwater Lake. Great views on a clear day down to the east coast. Good combination with the Boeri Lake trail or the Chemin Letang trail.

The Boeri Lake trail - Medium difficulty there-and-back hike to Dominica's highest crater lake. Nice views. Good combination with the Freshwater Lake trail.

The Morne Trois Pitons mountain trail - Difficult climb to Dominica's second highest mountain. Great fun with superb views. There-and-back in around 5 hours. Muddy and strenous.

The Jacko Steps trail - historic trail to former escaped slaves (maroon) camp and hand-carved cliff steps. Trail follows the Layou River. Several crossings. Beautiful river pools. Medium difficulty circular hike with a steep ascent. Around 3 hours in total.

The Morne Diablotin mountain trail - Difficult climb to the summit of Dominica's highest peak. Great fun. Often parrots. Great views when clear (rarely). There-and-back in around 5 hours. Muddy and strenuous.

The Morne Anglais mountain trail - Fun, medium difficulty hike to one of Dominica's southern peaks. Usually great views. There-and-back in around 4 hours.

The Riviere Cyrique trails - Short walk to Morgan River Cacade followed by difficult and steep coastal cliff climb to a waterfall that pours into the sea. Great fun but scary ! End up with a short walk and soak in Twa basins, three cascading river pools.

The Morne Crabier mountain trail - Medium difficulty circular hike from Soufriere to the elevated village of Galion, up and over Morne Crabier and down to the village of Scotts Head. Back to Soufriere in around 3 hours. Great views.

The Morne Vert mountain trail - Medium difficulty circular mountain hike from Soufriere to Tete Morne and from there to the summit of Morne Vert. Descend to the heritage site of Bois Cotlette and then back to Soufriere in around 4 hours. Great views of Soufriere and Grand Bay.

The Cabrits heritage trails - Three easy hikes around the Cabrits National Park. Great views and interesting historical ruins. Ending at the Fort Shirley Garrison. All hikes complete in around 3 hours total.

The Central Waterfalls trails - Two medium difficulty hikes to the beautiful hidden waterfalls of Soltoun followed by the Spanny (penrice) Twin Waterfalls. The a short easy walk to the Emerald Pool. Great pools for bathing. Some short but steep ravine climbs. Complete in 3 hours.

The Pagua River Pools - A medium difficulty there-and-back hike to the Charles Warner Secret Pools (two hours in total) followed by a short walk to the beautiful pools of the Sisserou Falls at Deux Branches.
